Controller settings

Values shown only where 2+ current guides (Oct 2025 or later) agree; otherwise the setting's purpose and "no agreed value".

  • Aim Assist Strength: How hard the game slows and pulls your crosshair while it overlaps a target's assist window. Agreed value: 100.
  • Use Legacy Aim Assist Strength: Switches back to the pre-Season 20 strength curve (re-added Feb 10, 2026). The 2026 hitscan reductions do not apply in Legacy mode. Agreed value: Off.
  • Aim Assist Window Size: Size of the bubble around your crosshair that has to touch a target before assist starts. Smaller is sharper but less forgiving. Agreed value: About 70.
  • Aim Assist Ease In (per hero type): How gradually assist ramps up once the windows first overlap. Since Season 20 there are separate sliders for projectile, hitscan and melee heroes. Agreed value: Low (0–20).
  • Disable Aim Assist at Max Deadzone: Turns assist off while the right stick is pushed fully, so fast turns are not slowed by targets. No agreed value.
  • Friendly Aim Assist health threshold: Ana, Juno and Illari only: assist locks onto allies only when they are below this health %. No agreed value.
  • Horizontal Sensitivity: Turn speed left/right at full stick tilt. Agreed value: About 45 (40–55).
  • Vertical Sensitivity: Turn speed up/down. Guides split on matching horizontal or going lower. No agreed value.
  • Extra Sensitivity at Max Deadzone (+ ramp-up delay/time): Adds turn speed only when the stick is fully pushed, after an optional delay; added Dec 9, 2025 for quick 180s. No agreed value.
  • Inner deadzone (Custom Deadzones: Override): How far the stick must move before input registers. Too high feels sluggish; too low lets drift move your aim. Agreed value: Lowest value with no drift.
  • Outer deadzone: Where full tilt is reached. Lower values hit max speed earlier. No agreed value.
  • Aim Technique (response curve): Shape of stick-to-turn mapping: Linear Ramp is 1:1, Dual-Zone has a slow inner zone and fast outer zone, Exponential Ramp speeds up late in the tilt. Agreed value: Linear Ramp.
  • Aim Ease In: Bends the response curve so small stick movements turn less (not the same as Aim Assist Ease In). No agreed value.
  • Aim Smoothing: Averages stick input over time: steadier, but adds delay on close, fast targets. Agreed value: 0 / low.
  • Vibration: Controller rumble on hits and abilities; can nudge your thumbs mid-shot. Agreed value: Off.
  • Button layout / per-hero binds: Every hero can have its own button mapping. Common ideas: abilities you use under pressure on the easiest buttons, and paddles or bumpers for jump/crouch so your thumb stays on the right stick. No agreed value.
  • Swap / Legacy sticks: Swaps movement and aim sticks or uses the old stick mapping. No agreed value.
